David Belle, the undisputed founder of parkour, developed this groundbreaking discipline in his hometown of Lisses, a suburb of Paris. Influenced by his father, Raymond Belle, David was photographed in Lisses, where he refined parkour. The photos also feature members of the Yamakasi Crew, who, along with Belle, helped create and popularize the art of parkour, highlighting the discipline’s innovative approach to movement through urban obstacles.
